“Pure air, good water, sunshine, the beautiful surroundings of nature…
these are God’s means for restoring the sick to health.”

We spent a winter in Scandinavia. In our area, days grew as short as 7 hours of "daylight" but many of those hours were like dusk or dawn. Not quite bright. And often, oh so very often, it was overcast. There were patches of about 6 weeks with fewer than 5 days of scattered blue skies.
We grew to understand how lifeless one can feel without sunshine. Now, back in SA, with a life circled around our gardening plans, we are seeing the benefits of regular sunshine. For us as adults as well as our daughter, energy levels have never been better.
You don't need to go far on the Google road to come across articles about the benefits of regular sunshine. Combine this with exercise (like a fresh early morning walk), fresh air and a wholesome diet, and you have a winning recipe. No, don't get sunburn. The point is not to work towards a tan. It is about the benefits of drinking in the health and vigor that flows from the rays of light.
That reminds me of John 8:12. Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
